Description

PT is blood test that measures how long it takes blood to clot. Test is useful help diagnose a bleeding disorder or excessive clotting disorder. The international normalized ratio (INR) is calculated from PT is used to monitor how well blood thinning drug from warfanin (Anticoagulant) is working to prevent blood clots. PT also done in acute conditions like disseminated intravascular coagulation & chromic conditions like chromic liver disease that affect coagulation.
