Description
Total Creatine kinase(CPK) an enzyme , mostly found in skeletal muscle,heart & brain . 3 types of CK enzyme. CK MM: Found in skeletal muscle. CK MB: Found in heart muscle .CK BB: Found in brain. Increased total CK level in blood indicative of injury to cardiac specific, so CK MB test used to differanciate between skeletal muscle & heart muscle damage. CK MB test used to detect heart attack, also to detect second / subsequent heart attack.
