Description
CEA (Carcino embryonic antigen): Test measures amount of CEA, a protein that normally present at very low levels in blood. Test done primarily to monitor cancer treatment response and recurrence; As an indicator of amount of size of tumor present (tumor burden) and to assist in cancer staging ; rarely as follow up to positive screening test for cancer.
